Western Queensland Livestock Exchange - WQLX


         WQLX is ideally positioned in the Western
         Queensland region, allowing both buyers and
         producers access to all major corridors. WQLX
         boasts the highest quality spelling and transit facility
         in QLD, with soft Thompson River water, shade
         infrastructure and bunk feeding with high quality
         ration combining cereal and pasture hay. WQLX is


         WQLX is currently undergoing a $5.2 million upgrade,
         which will deliver a world class facility. Regular sales
         will recommence in April 2022, following completion
         of major work.

          In FY20 WQLX:
          •   Supported the movement of 75,000 cattle in transit
          •   Weighed 41,000 head of cattle for producers
          •   Provided tailored feeding to 151,000 head of cattle,
             equaling 831 tonnes of fodder

          With the upgrades delivered to WQLX, it is
          estimated to:
          •   Increase transit cattle to 130,000
          •   Increase feeding to 190,000
          •   Reintroduce sales and build towards the target of
             10,000 throughout by 2026
          •   New sustainable drought resistant business strategy
          •   Improve buyer competition and market
             competitiveness

             and animal welfare during movements from NT and
             Western QLD to market
